Working on the covers for the Webster Groves Community Days programs was always one of my favorite jobs at the Webster-Kirkwood Times.

Logo for new cleaning service touting it's GREEN cleansing spray and fogger services which kill Covid-19 as well as other bacteria and mold. Fresh green colors were desired and when I think of a dude, I think of cool sunglasses which I integrated as part of the logo.

A fun logo that one would think was for someone who cooks. Nope, the name Sauté & Simmer is something the client has always wanted to use for his own sales-type service and he wanted it to look like it was for a restaurant or food service. So, that basically shot my "how and why" logo design theory out of the water. Still, I like how it turned out.

Formerly known as Art&Air, The Webster Arts Fair held it's 13th annual art fair in June of 2019. I have been creating these programs since it's inception.

When Webster University turned 100, they wanted to do something special to celebrate their Centennial. This 16-page booklet was a true collaboration between myself, president of Webster University and their Director of Creative Services.

What started out as a way to keep my youngest son from freaking out while shaving off my beard, ended up being a quite funny answer to my one-man-band hobby.

The first time I grew my beard out and shaved it off, I heard sometimes kids freak out. So, I brought my youngest son in to help me shave and we did different beard styles while shaving. We ended up doing that every year since and eventually that same activity lead to this photo shoot. Since I was shaving it off anyway, I thought it would be a funny way to promote my hobby of music.

My brother and I have had a lot of fun poked at us over the years due to these ET photos we had taken at Universal Studios back in the day. So this past Christmas I thought to myself, "Why not give them more ammunition to make fun of us with?" and we shot these photos on Christmas Eve 2019 when we were all together at our Dads. It was a lot of fun and others decided to join in as well. Good times.

All created in Adobe Illustrator. With the CD in it's spot, and booklet closed, the entirety of blue. I added a dash of color that appears when you remove the CD. Showing another set of photos, from another year, of my beard shaving fun with my son.

One of the last photos taken on my phone before it shot craps.

Of special note on this page are the Coldwell-Banker ads in the center. They had just switched to a new set of design standards and I was tasked to use them to create these. While I love being created, sometimes jobs where the design standards are already in place can be almost therapeutic.

The "Fake-News" ad was done as a last minute filler ad before the newspaper went to press. Even though it was done quickly, and font-wise not the most pleasing ad, it ended up winning multiple awards with the Missouri Press Association and the Independent Free Papers of America (IFPA) based on the idea alone.

I had begun making DVD's with all of the Webster-Kirkwood Times .pdf files for each year and issue for archive purposes. I made them completely searchable using Adobe Acrobat Pro. Eventually technology changed so much that it was deemed unnecessary to create DVDs so the 3rd one was never completed.
